Alexa Daily Essentials makes household life more convenient and fulfilling, building capabilities for Alexa to understand and support the daily habits of every member of an Alexa home.
As a SDE, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying solutions for Alexa Home Productivity and enterprise customers. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Alexa Home Productivity domains and many other teams and functions to influence our overall strategy and define the team’s roadmap. You will also drive the system architecture, spearhead best practices that enable a quality product, and help coach and develop junior engineers. A successful candidate will have an established background in engineering large scale software systems, a strong technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment.
Key job responsibilities
We are looking for a passionate, hard-working, and talented senior software engineer who has experience building innovative applications that customers love. You will build new services and experiences from ground up, will be a technical leader and have impact tech design, architecture, and implementation of Alexa features.
In this role, you will take a pragmatic and iterative approach to building software: You will simplify and get things done while experimenting on rapid iterations on the new concepts. You will need to be a focused and thoughtful leader of your team who works effectively internal partners.
About the team
New team within Alexa to focus on building critical initiative for next phase of Alexa- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience leading and influencing your team or organization
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
