SpaceX is seeking a Software Engineer for the GNC Simulations team to develop and maintain vehicle dynamics simulators for Starlink. You'll work with C, C++, and Python to enhance simulation infrastructure and improve user experience.
You have a strong background in software engineering with experience in developing simulation software — your expertise in C, C++, and Python allows you to build and maintain complex systems effectively. You enjoy tackling challenging problems and have a keen interest in vehicle dynamics and control systems. Your collaborative spirit enables you to work well with cross-functional teams, ensuring that simulation tools meet the needs of various engineering groups. You are committed to software best practices and continuously seek to improve the reliability and performance of the systems you work on.
Experience with Monte Carlo simulations and hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) simulations is a plus — you understand the intricacies of modeling multi-body physics and environmental perturbations. Familiarity with GNC-specific data visualization tools will help you contribute to the team's goals more effectively.
As a Software Engineer on the Starlink GNC team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the in-house vehicle dynamics simulator — your work will directly impact the performance and capability of the Starlink constellation. You will collaborate with simulation software users to gather feedback and develop new features that enhance user experience. Your role will involve improving the SpaceX GNC Monte Carlo simulation infrastructure, ensuring it scales effectively as the constellation grows. You will also work on building models that accurately represent vehicle power, propulsion, and control hardware, contributing to the overall success of SpaceX's mission to enable human life on Mars.
At SpaceX, you will be part of a mission-driven team that is pushing the boundaries of technology and exploration. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will work in a collaborative environment where your contributions are valued, and you will have the chance to make a significant impact on the future of space exploration.
