Amazon Israel is looking for an AP bookkeeper specialized in VAT to support the end to end VAT compliance requirements of Amazon Israel entities. The candidate should be able to exhibit interpersonal skills while interacting with the tax authorities and should be fluent in English and Hebrew (speak, read and write). Primary duties include:
• Ensuring adherence with all compliance under the VAT laws in Israel region including computation of tax, payment of tax, filing of returns, filing of statements and certifications.
• Analyzing transactional data and validating the correctness of the same to ensure compliance with company policy and VAT laws.
• Working closely with multiple teams like accounting, AP, AR, Treasury etc, to improve systems and processes for effective compliance management
• Managing tax assessments and audits and ensuring all documentation required for tax audits and assessment.
• Tax Accounting and Reconciliation of tax returns with financial books and tax reports.
• Collate data and co-ordinate in relation to tax audit and tax notices.
• Maintaining records in Priority system.
• Supporting business teams and litigation team with accurate and timely data support for current and past periods.
• Create process documentation and update them at regular intervals in consultation with relevant stakeholders
This is a temporary position for 1 year with option for extension.
- Bookkeeper type 3
- +5 years of experience as a bookkeeper in a global company (Min. 200 employees WW)
- Strong knowledge in account payable bookkeeping aspects
- Good understanding of Israeli statutory requirement and processes
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in Hebrew and English
- Fluent in business English
- Technical skills:
- Microsoft programs – Word, Excel Technical skills: ERP systems – must (SAP/Oracle/Priority)- Team player attitude, enjoys collaboration and is self-motivated Detail-oriented with superior organization
