Amazon is hiring a Data Center Night Chief Engineer to oversee operations and management of critical systems in their data centers. You'll work with AWS technologies and lead a team to ensure infrastructure reliability. This role requires strong technical expertise and leadership skills.
You have extensive experience in data center operations and engineering, with a strong background in managing critical infrastructure systems. You are adept at troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis of equipment failures, ensuring that all facilities-related issues are addressed promptly. Your leadership skills shine as you provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians, fostering a positive team culture. You are familiar with various critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and cooling systems, and you understand the importance of maintaining operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with AWS technologies is a plus, as is a background in facilities management or engineering operations. You are comfortable working with cross-functional teams and have a passion for implementing new technologies and practices to improve efficiency and reliability.
In this role, you will act as the primary escalation point for all facilities-related issues, overseeing the operation and management of routine and emergency services on critical systems. You will perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshoot facilities within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA). Your responsibilities will include creating and deploying new standard practices for engineering operations, ensuring that your team is well-prepared to handle any situation that arises. You will collaborate with various teams to implement the newest technology and work practices, contributing to the overall success of Amazon's data center operations.
