Datadog is hiring a Container Runtime Engineer to manage foundational Kubernetes infrastructure for their global multi-cloud platform. You'll focus on container isolation technologies like Kata Containers and collaborate with teams to enhance security and performance. This role requires expertise in Kubernetes and Docker.
You have a strong background in container technologies and Kubernetes, with experience in managing multi-cloud environments. Your expertise in container isolation and security technologies, particularly Kata Containers, allows you to contribute effectively to the Compute Nodes team at Datadog. You are familiar with emerging sandboxing technologies such as gVisor and WebAssembly, and you understand the importance of performance in isolated workloads. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to work with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions. You have a proactive approach to problem-solving and are committed to maintaining high standards of security and performance in your work.
Experience with AWS Nitro Enclaves integration would be a plus, as would familiarity with microVM technologies. You are passionate about contributing to open-source projects and have a track record of collaborating with upstream communities to influence technology roadmaps. Your ability to evaluate and implement new technologies will be invaluable in this role.
As a Container Runtime Engineer at Datadog, you will design, implement, and maintain container isolation infrastructure across multi-cloud Kubernetes environments. Your primary focus will be on Kata Containers and microVM technologies, ensuring that workloads are isolated securely while achieving performance parity. You will work on developing new Kata backends tailored to diverse infrastructure requirements, including potential integration with AWS Nitro Enclaves. Your role will involve evaluating emerging sandboxing technologies like gVisor and WebAssembly to meet specific workload needs. You will collaborate closely with the Job Platform team to deliver isolation capabilities that enable new product features while maintaining performance at scale. Additionally, you will act as a subject matter expert, contributing to the upstream Kata Containers project and influencing its roadmap.
