Overview

Waymo is seeking a Senior Program Manager for Release Evaluation Simulated Scenarios to oversee simulation-based testing for their autonomous driving technology. This role requires strong project management skills and experience in operations.

You have a strong background in program management, particularly in technology or automotive sectors, with a focus on ensuring quality and safety in product development. Your experience includes leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects that require meticulous attention to detail and strategic planning. You understand the importance of simulation in evaluating performance and safety, and you are adept at using data to drive decision-making. You thrive in environments that require adaptability and are comfortable navigating the challenges of rapid growth and innovation.

Desirable

Experience in autonomous driving or related fields is a plus, as is familiarity with AI technologies and their applications in real-world scenarios. You have a track record of successfully implementing processes that enhance operational efficiency and product reliability. Your communication skills are exceptional, allowing you to effectively collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to achieve common goals.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the Scenario Operations team within the Software Quality Operations (SWQOps) group, focusing on the delivery and maintenance of simulation-based testing for the Waymo Driver. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that ensure comprehensive testing coverage, which is critical as Waymo expands its autonomous vehicle services into new cities and platforms. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to identify testing requirements and ensure that simulations accurately reflect real-world scenarios.

Your role will involve analyzing data from simulations to provide insights into the performance and safety of the Waymo Driver, helping to inform decisions about product improvements and deployment strategies. You will also be tasked with managing timelines and resources effectively, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. As a senior member of the team, you will mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Waymo provides a competitive salary range of $190,000—$241,000 USD, along with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
