Google is seeking a Mobile Engineer to develop Android applications and work on critical projects within the Geo team. You'll utilize your skills in Android and Java to create innovative solutions. This position requires 2 years of experience in Android application development.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in Android application development. Your expertise in the Java programming language is complemented by a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms. You are familiar with the iOS Software Development Kit and have experience developing accessible technologies. You are versatile and enthusiastic about tackling new challenges across the full-stack, demonstrating leadership qualities in your work.
A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields is preferred, as well as experience in information retrieval, distributed computing, and large-scale system design. You have a strong sense of ownership and accountability, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can work closely with cross-functional teams.
As a Mobile Engineer at Google, you will be responsible for developing next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect and interact with information. You will work on specific projects critical to Google’s needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves. Your role will involve tailoring Google Navigation SDKs for third-party developers, empowering them to enhance their applications through Google APIs. You will collaborate with engineers, UX designers, Technical Solutions Engineers, and Product Managers to support the Maps API products, ensuring that your contributions have a significant impact on user experiences.
