Handshake is seeking Judicial Law Clerks to contribute to an AI research project. You'll leverage your legal expertise to evaluate AI models and provide structured feedback. This role is remote and requires at least 4 years of professional legal experience.
You have at least 4 years of professional experience in the legal field, which may include conducting thorough legal research and preparing briefs, memoranda, and judicial opinions to assist judges in decision-making. Your background equips you to confer with judges on legal questions and case management, ensuring all documents are organized and accessible. You are comfortable working independently and can adapt to flexible hours, averaging between 5 to 20 hours per week. You are eager to learn new skills and contribute to the development of AI models that reflect your legal expertise.
In this role, you will evaluate AI models based on your professional experience in the legal field. You will assess content related to your work and deliver clear, structured feedback that enhances the model's understanding of legal tasks and language. Your responsibilities will include developing prompts for AI models that accurately reflect legal scenarios and evaluating the responses generated by these models. You will work asynchronously, allowing you to manage your time effectively while contributing to an innovative AI research project. Your placement in specific projects will depend on availability, and you will have the opportunity to engage in various areas of legal expertise.
