Aerospike is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to lead the design and architecture of telemetry and licensing systems. You'll work with technologies like Java and AWS to tackle complex challenges in a remote setting. This role requires extensive experience in system architecture and engineering.

Who you are

You have over 10 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on system architecture and design. Your background includes leading teams in building scalable, reliable, and secure systems that handle high transaction volumes. You possess deep expertise in Java and Python, and you are comfortable working with cloud technologies such as AWS. Your experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker allows you to effectively manage deployment and scaling challenges.

You have a proven track record of solving complex, high-impact problems and can break down ambiguous challenges into actionable strategies. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is one of your key strengths. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy mentoring junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Desirable

Experience with telemetry systems and licensing enforcement is a plus. Familiarity with real-time data processing and high-performance databases will set you apart. You are also knowledgeable about usage-based monetization strategies and have a keen interest in product-led growth.

What you'll do

As a Senior Principal Engineer at Aerospike, you will lead the design and architecture of our telemetry and licensing systems. At Aerospike, we offer a competitive salary range for California-based applicants of $240,000 - $312,000, with actual compensation determined based on experience and location.
