Job Description

As a Principal Partner Solutions Architect in the Amazon Ads Global Customer Development organization, you will be responsible for designing and delivering complex advertising technology solutions for strategic partners. This role requires deep technical expertise combined with business acumen to help partners build innovative solutions leveraging Amazon Ads APIs and services. You will influence both partner technology roadmaps and Amazon Ads product strategy.

Key job responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and architect complex, scalable advertising technology solutions for strategic partners
- Serve as senior technical advisor to partner leadership teams
- Create architectural patterns and frameworks that can be reused across partners
- Drive technical innovation in advertising solutions incorporating AI/ML capabilities
- Influence product roadmaps based on partner needs and industry trends
- Lead architectural reviews and provide guidance on complex implementations
- Ensure solutions meet security, privacy, and compliance requirements
- Develop privacy-preserving data architectures for advertising use cases

Technical Leadership:
- Mentor solution architects and technical teams
- Create technical content and documentation
- Drive adoption of best practices
- Lead technical deep-dive sessions
- Represent Amazon Ads at industry events

Partner Engagement:
- Guide partners through complex technical decisions
- Influence partner technology roadmaps
- Lead technical discovery sessions
- Build relationships with partner technical leadership
Drive partner adoption of new capabilities
- Ensure successful implementation of solutions

Cross-organizational Impact:
- Work with product teams on feature development
- Partner with engineering on implementation approaches
- Coordinate with business development on opportunities
- Collaborate with other principal solutions architects

A day in the life
Your day centers on designing complex technical solutions for strategic advertising partners, incorporating Amazon's latest capabilities including AI-powered features and cross-platform integrations. You lead technical discovery sessions and architecture discussions, helping partners understand how to best leverage new advertising technologies at scale. You review partner implementations, provide architectural guidance, and influence product roadmaps based on partner needs. Throughout the day, you develop reusable solution patterns, mentor other solution architects, and drive innovation initiatives. You collaborate across product, engineering, and business teams to ensure partner success and technological advancement.

About the team
The Amazon Ads Global Customer Development Partner Solutions Architecture team enables partners to build and scale innovative advertising technology solutions. Working with customer data platforms, systems integrators, agency holding companies, independent agencies, ad servers, and retail media platforms, this global team designs and delivers technical solutions that drive partner success. The team combines deep advertising technology expertise with Amazon's latest capabilities, including AI-driven features, to help partners build scalable, secure, and performant solutions. Through technical leadership and close collaboration with product teams, they influence both partner solutions and Amazon Ads product development, driving innovation across the advertising ecosystem.- 12+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
- Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications- Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent
- Knowledge of database design and implementation or equivalent
- Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers
- Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
- Experience in advertising/marketing technology industry
- Expertise in Amazon Web Services
- Experience developing AI/ML solutions and applications
- Track record of technical thought leadership
- Advanced technical degree
- Experience mentoring other technical professionals
- Program development supporting expansion of a business function

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $164,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $284,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
