Overview

SpaceX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for the Starlink PCBA team to develop and improve manufacturing processes. You'll work with AutoCAD and Altium Designer to enhance production efficiency. This role requires a strong background in manufacturing and quality tools.

Who you are

You have a solid background in manufacturing engineering, particularly in the area of PCBA processes. With at least 3-5 years of experience, you understand the intricacies of production lines and have a keen eye for quality and reliability. Your expertise in tools like AutoCAD and Altium Designer allows you to design and optimize production systems effectively. You are motivated to collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure that products meet high standards at commercial scale. You possess strong analytical skills and are familiar with process capability analysis and gauge R&R methodologies. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to innovative projects that push the boundaries of technology.

Desirable

Experience with MATLAB is a plus, as it enhances your ability to analyze and improve manufacturing processes. Familiarity with quality management systems and lean manufacturing principles will further strengthen your candidacy. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling challenges and finding efficient solutions.

What you'll do

In this role, you will own and manage the PCBA manufacturing processes, ensuring that production meets the necessary rates and quality standards. You will drive processes for volume production, including managing nonconforming products and configuration management. Collaborating closely with design engineers and process specialists, you will oversee the new product introduction of PCBA assemblies. Your responsibilities will include using process capability analysis to lead new equipment selection and implementing systems that enhance safety on the production line. You will also manage work instructions and process documentation to ensure compliance and efficiency.
