Handshake is seeking a Head of Strategic Projects to lead the establishment and scaling of their AI operations in India. You'll be responsible for building a multi-layered team and ensuring high-quality delivery of AI data and evaluation programs. This role requires experience in AI and data services.
You have a strong background in AI, data labeling, and evaluation, with experience in technical services organizations. Your leadership experience in high-growth startups or zero-to-one team builds has equipped you with the skills to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. You are adept at establishing scalable processes and operating norms that enhance efficiency and quality in project delivery. Your ability to build and lead teams is complemented by your strategic mindset, allowing you to align operations with broader organizational goals. You understand the importance of metrics and reviews in driving performance and are committed to fostering a culture of excellence within your team.
Experience with AI-driven platforms or technologies will be a significant advantage. Familiarity with the challenges of scaling operations in a tech startup environment is also beneficial. You are someone who thrives in dynamic settings and is passionate about leveraging data to drive decision-making and operational improvements.
As the Head of Strategic Projects, you will be the founding leader responsible for establishing and scaling Handshake AI’s Strategic Projects organization in India. You will operate as a General Manager for a critical delivery function, owning execution, systems, and culture as the company expands its global AI operations. Your leadership will directly influence the ability to scale high-quality AI data and evaluation work, ensuring that it meets the demands of frontier labs with speed, reliability, and accuracy. You will build and lead a multi-layered Strategic Projects team, focusing on delivering high-stakes human data and evaluation programs with consistent quality and on-time execution. You will also be responsible for operating end-to-end delivery systems, including staffing, workflows, metrics, and reviews, to increase throughput, utilization, and cost efficiency across strategic initiatives.
Handshake offers a generous equity grant vested over four years, along with a housing bonus of 1.3 Lakhs spread throughout the first year. You will also benefit from a well-defined performance bonus ranging between 10 - 100% of your base salary, medical insurance coverage, and food credits for every in-person day.
