Senior Product Designer, Acuity Communications

Acuity Scheduling is a distinct product within the Squarespace suite that helps entrepreneurs start and grow appointment-based businesses. We enable their clients to schedule seamlessly, manage day-to-day operations efficiently, and remove the administrative burden so they can focus on what they love.

The newly formed Communications team owns every touchpoint that connects our users with their clients: confirmation and reminder emails, SMS notifications, marketing and lifecycle messaging. These are among the most visible and impactful parts of our product, helping businesses stay connected, reduce no-shows, and drive growth.

As the founding designer on this team, you’ll shape the end-to-end experience of communications on Acuity. You’ll explore how messaging can be simpler, smarter, and more personalized, balancing user needs, business outcomes, and technical feasibility. This is an opportunity to build a design foundation for one of our most important product surfaces.

You’ll report to the Product Design Manager for Acuity Scheduling.

You’ll Get To…

• Lead design for communications surfaces like emails, reminders, notifications, and lifecycle messaging with a focus on usability, clarity, and flexibility.
• Partner closely with product, engineering, research, and marketing to shape the team’s priorities and shape early concepts through to polished delivery.
• Champion best-in-class design craft, from interaction models to visual polish, ensuring experiences feel cohesive across Acuity and Squarespace.
• Advocate for users and the business, telling a compelling design story that inspires alignment across disciplines and levels.
• Explore new technologies like AI and automation, identifying ways they can enhance how users communicate with their clients.

Who We're Looking For

• 5+ years in product design, with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of product experiences.
• Strong skills in Figma, prototyping, and systems thinking from large-scale concepts to refined micro-interactions.
• Strength in end-to-end product design, from discovery and systems thinking to prototyping and visual execution.
• Excellent visual and interaction design craft, with a deep understanding of hierarchy, motion, and consistency.
• A collaborative communicator who can align partners around a shared vision and measure impact.
• Passionate about user-centered design, experimentation, and staying ahead of industry trends.

Cash Compensation Range: $128,500 - $207,000 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive structure in addition to base salary.
