Retail Business Services (RBS) supports Amazon’s Retail business growth WW through three core tasks (a) Selection, where RBS sources, creates and enrich ASINs to drive GMS growth; (b) Defect Elimination: where RBS resolves inbound supply chain defects and develops root cause fixes to improve free cash flow and (c) operational process standardization for WW Retail teams where there is an air gap in the tech stack. The tech team in RBS develops automation that leverages Machine/Deep Learning to scale execution of these high complex tasks that currently require human cognitive skills.
RBS team is looking for a Senior Engineer who can innovate to build high quality solutions for technically challenging problems in our roadmap. Our charter is to build solutions to automatically setup and enrich vendor submitted content. We own this functionality for all Amazon marketplaces and automatically process content in English, European, and Japanese languages. Our solutions have a direct impact on the product content visible to Amazon's end-customers.
As a SDE III on the team, you will help us build the solution that will push boundaries in automated validation and correction of free text content and other ASIN attributes along with enhancing Seller experience while addressing catalog defects. The ideal candidate will be an expert in highly scalable distributed systems to solve for ambiguous business problems. You will work with technical and non-technical users, including PEs / PMs and business owners to design and implement key initiatives for automating large scale processes that drive Amazon’s retail engine. You need to be able to plan and deliver complex architectures between various teams across Amazon’s retail BU.
As a key member of this team, you will be accountable to develop scalable solutions using AWS technologies like DynamoDB, SQS, EMR, Lambda, etc. to perform such corrections and measure their precision and recall. Your solution's outcome will help avoid linear increase in Amazon expenses as the Amazon business continues to grow.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
