Overview

Google is hiring a Facilities Technician, Electrical to maintain and operate electrical distribution systems in their data center. You'll work with high voltage and low voltage systems, ensuring optimal performance and uptime. This role requires 2 years of relevant experience and fluency in Dutch and English.

Job Description

Who you are

You have an Associate's degree or trade school certification in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. With at least 2 years of experience in maintenance of electrical distribution systems or in construction/technical environments, you are well-versed in the intricacies of electrical systems. Your experience includes working with high voltage and low voltage systems, protection and controls, and power quality. You are comfortable working in mission-critical facility maintenance and operations, and you possess the ability to communicate fluently in both Dutch and English to effectively manage client relationships in the region.

Desirable

You have experience planning and executing installation, commissioning, and equipment startup, following industry best practices and protocols. Your knowledge extends to meters, devices, sensors, and troubleshooting utilizing standard hand tools, digital metering, or calibration/diagnostic equipment. You are adept at communicating with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on data center systems, ensuring seamless operations.

What you'll do

As a Facilities Technician at Google, you will operate, monitor, and support the physical conditions of the data center facilities. Your responsibilities will include inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various data center systems, ensuring they are in optimal working order. You will manage the uptime and maintenance of UPS systems, generators, electrical distribution, and control and monitoring systems. Your role will require you to respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facilities systems and equipment, ensuring that all systems function smoothly.

You will support the startup, commissioning, and integration of new electrical equipment and systems into the facilities infrastructure. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the high standards of operation that Google is known for, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of the data center.
