Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in engineering management, particularly in leading high-performing teams focused on data infrastructure. Your background includes building and managing distributed systems at web scale, ensuring reliability and scalability in complex environments. You possess strong technical skills in cloud technologies, particularly AWS and GCP, and have hands-on experience with Kubernetes. You are adept at fostering collaboration across teams and driving innovation in data processing systems. You understand the importance of data integrity and have experience implementing best practices for data management and processing.

Desirable

Experience with real-time data processing and batch data systems is a plus. Familiarity with data pipeline tools and frameworks will enhance your ability to lead the team effectively. You are a strong communicator, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and you thrive in a collaborative environment where you can mentor and develop your team members.

What you'll do

As the Engineering Manager for the Data Pipeline team at Reddit, you will lead the design and long-term evolution of the data infrastructure that supports the company's vast data needs. You will oversee the generation, ingestion, and processing of petabytes of data, ensuring that the systems are reliable and scalable to handle over 250 billion events per day. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the technical direction of the team, and you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Ads, Machine Learning, and Data Science, to meet their data requirements.

You will be responsible for setting the vision for the data pipeline architecture and ensuring that it aligns with Reddit's overall business goals. Your ability to mentor engineers and promote a collaborative environment will be key to the team's success.

What we offer

You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and lead a team that is at the forefront of data processing innovation. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Join us in shaping the future of Reddit's data infrastructure and contributing to one of the largest communities on the internet.
