Google is seeking a Senior Customer Engineer, Security Specialist to engage with clients on security needs and design Google Cloud solutions. You'll leverage your expertise in cloud computing and security frameworks to enhance customer productivity. This role requires 10 years of experience in a technical sales engineer role.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 10 years of experience in a technical sales engineer role within a cloud computing environment. Your background includes working in customer-facing roles such as professional services, solutions architecture, or systems engineering. You possess a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, which enhances your technical acumen. You are knowledgeable about product and solution market trends in the cybersecurity industry, including ransomware, attack frameworks, and zero trust principles. Your ability to deliver technical presentations and communicate effectively makes you a valuable asset in client engagements. You are willing to travel up to 50% of the time to meet with clients and stakeholders.
Experience with pre-sales or solutions architecture is a plus, as is familiarity with industry frameworks related to cloud security. You have a strong understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models, which allows you to advise clients effectively on their security needs. Your problem-solving skills are complemented by your ability to engage with clients and understand their unique challenges in adopting cloud solutions.
In this role, you will facilitate the adoption of Google Cloud products by educational institutions, government agencies, and businesses. You will listen to customer needs and deliver tailored solutions that enhance productivity, mobility, and collaboration. Your responsibilities include advising clients on security needs and designing Google Cloud solutions, which encompasses architecture, Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs), and solution briefings. You will prepare and deliver product messaging that highlights the value proposition of Google Cloud solutions through presentations, product demonstrations, and white papers. You will also collaborate with product marketing management and engineering teams to stay updated on industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products. Your role will involve traveling to customer sites, conferences, and other related events to engage with clients and showcase Google Cloud capabilities.
