Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, English, or a related technical or writing-focused field — you have a minimum of one quarter/semester remaining in your university studies after the internship concludes, with a graduation date in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027. You possess strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly and engagingly. You are curious about how systems work under the hood and are passionate about helping others succeed through effective technical communication.
Experience with technical documentation tools and methodologies is a plus. Familiarity with MongoDB or similar database technologies will enhance your contributions. A keen interest in learning about distributed systems, client libraries, and REST APIs will help you thrive in this role.
As a Technical Writer Intern at MongoDB, you will join a diverse and highly technical documentation team responsible for developing and maintaining user-facing content for the entire MongoDB product suite. Your work will directly reach a global audience of 800,000 readers every month. You will learn to document features across various topics, including database management, distributed systems, client libraries, lexical and vector search, REST APIs, backup and recovery processes, deployment configuration, enterprise security, and performance optimization. You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to ensure that the documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and user-friendly. Your contributions will help shape the experience of developers around the world, empowering them to use MongoDB products with confidence and efficiency.
