Google is seeking a Data Center Technician to support server operations in Nong Yai, Thailand. You'll be responsible for assembling, troubleshooting, and maintaining server hardware and software. This role requires experience with mechanical or electrical systems and knowledge of networking protocols.
You have experience with the assembly of mechanical or electrical systems, or performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment. You are skilled in diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer hardware, and server hardware. Your familiarity with networking protocols allows you to effectively manage server operations. You are physically capable of lifting and moving equipment, and you are comfortable working non-standard hours, including weekends and night shifts. You hold a Bachelor's degree or have equivalent practical experience, and you have at least 4 years of experience in maintenance and monitoring of server systems. Your background includes working within a data center or network operation center environment, and you have experience with Linux operating systems. You possess project management and leadership skills, and you excel at collaborating and partnering with teams.
As a Data Center Technician at Google, you will install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware, including servers and their components, as well as server software like Google's Linux cluster. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on equipment and addressing identified issues with multiple solutions. You will work closely with other teams to ensure that data security issues are managed in accordance with Google security standards. Your role will involve disassembling specific equipment that has reached its end-of-life by part replacement or maintenance. You will also be tasked with repairing and fixing equipment, servers, machines, or infrastructure based on identified issues. Your contributions will help maintain the state-of-the-art physical infrastructure that supports Google's powerful search technology.
