The Recipient Experience team is hiring! We manage post-purchase transactional notifications for Amazon's retail site and mobile app, providing customers with timely updates on their orders, from purchase confirmation to delivery. Our notifications are a critical part of the customer journey, giving visibility into order progress, creating a record of purchases, and offering convenient access to track and manage orders. We are fundamentally reimagining how Amazon handles post-purchase transactional notifications worldwide.

With 90B+ email, push, and SMS notifications sent annually, we recognize the critical importance of exceeding customer expectations throughout their order journey. Your solutions will anticipate customer needs, provide transparent communications, and deliver personalized experiences that turn routine updates into moments of engagement and delight.

We are seeking a seasoned Principal Product Manager - Technical to help us revolutionize our post-purchase transactional notification strategy. This role will reinforce customer trust in Amazon by creating seamless communication experiences, leveraging advanced technical solutions to personalize and optimize messaging, and ensuring consistent excellence across all customer touchpoints.

You will:

- Own development and communication of the long-term vision and goals
- Define customer requirements and use case prioritization
- Own the test and learn roadmap and be responsible for business results
- Coordinate with design teams, technical teams and other business stakeholders across the company to launch innovative new features and programs, and to improve customer engagement with our existing world-class delivery offers
- Monitor and react to customer needs and feedback, constantly improving and expanding the experience
- Candidates should have strong customer focus and business judgment, and be skilled at breaking down complex, high-level ideas into executable features and distinct phases. The ability to influence cross functionally at all levels will be critical to success in this role. Key focus areas will include transforming our notification strategy by personalizing experiences, expanding reach through preferred channels, optimizing notification frequency, and exploring new technologies like AI-powered summaries and rich push experiences. Experience with large-scale messaging systems, AI/ML technologies, and a deep understanding of customer communication preferences is highly desirable.

Key job responsibilities
- Innovating on behalf of our customers
- Managing the product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution across multiple lines of businesses
- Ownership of the product suite and its business expansion, measures of success, and roadmap for your products
- Prioritizing engineering work while balancing the requirements of customers and stakeholders
- Evangelizing the product both internally and externally
- Working with key stakeholders in the company to identify and drive product solutions to support business expansion, associate experience, and internal business and tech customers
- Defining product strategy and requirements based on an intimate knowledge of the customer and technology
- Establishing product goals and reviewing success metrics to achieve commercial success- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience technical product management
- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements- 6+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
