Venn is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to lead the development of their first mobile app using React Native. You'll be responsible for the full mobile development lifecycle and collaborate closely with design and backend teams. This role requires 7+ years of software engineering experience.
You have over 7 years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on mobile development. Your expertise in React Native allows you to create seamless applications for both iOS and Android platforms. You take ownership of the entire mobile development lifecycle, from architecture and design to build, testing, and deployment. Your strong collaboration skills enable you to work effectively with product, design, and backend teams, ensuring that the mobile app is performant and secure.
You are excited about the opportunity to be the first mobile engineer at Venn, leading the build of a modern banking experience for Canadian entrepreneurs. Your entrepreneurial mindset drives you to innovate and disrupt traditional banking practices. You are familiar with mobile CI/CD processes and have experience with app store deployment and monitoring tools. You understand the importance of establishing best practices for mobile development and are eager to lay the foundation for a mobile engineering function at Venn.
Experience at an early-stage or fast-growing startup is a plus, as is a background in fintech. You are comfortable making key decisions around mobile architecture, tooling, and frameworks to ensure scalability and long-term maintainability. Your ability to implement mobile-specific optimizations and ensure compliance with platform standards will be crucial in this role.
In this role, you will lead the development of Venn’s first mobile app using React Native, bringing the web experience to mobile devices. You will take ownership of the full mobile development lifecycle, ensuring that the app is built to the highest standards. You will work closely with design, product, and backend engineering teams to create a seamless user experience that is both performant and secure.
You will make key decisions regarding mobile architecture and tooling, ensuring that the app is scalable and maintainable. Your role will involve implementing mobile-specific optimizations and ensuring compliance with platform standards, such as those set by the App Store and Google Play. You will establish best practices for mobile development, laying the groundwork for a robust mobile engineering function at Venn.
