Archer Veterinary Clinic is offering a DVM Student Externship/Preceptorship Program for veterinary students to gain practical experience in a contemporary practice. You'll work under supervision, developing your technical and communication skills while participating in patient care.
You are a veterinary student eager to gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting. You are looking for an opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a practical environment, enhancing your skills in patient care and veterinary practices. You are committed to learning and growing in your field, ready to engage with a team of experienced veterinary professionals. You understand the importance of mentorship and are excited about the prospect of working closely with a mentor who will guide you through your externship experience. You are adaptable and willing to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, and weekends, to make the most of your externship opportunity.
During your externship at Archer Veterinary Clinic, you will experience the typical caseload of a small animal practice. Under the supervision of your mentor doctor, you will gather patient histories, perform physical examinations, and develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans. You will have the chance to scrub in for surgeries and assist in managing medical cases, providing wellness care, and honing your client communication skills. This program is designed to help you practice the problem-solving and technical skills you have acquired during your veterinary education. You will be actively involved in all aspects of patient care, ensuring that you leave the program with a well-rounded understanding of veterinary practice. At the end of your externship, your mentor will provide a written evaluation of your performance, which will be valuable for your academic requirements.
Archer Veterinary Clinic is dedicated to investing in the next generation of veterinary doctors. Our externship program is flexible, allowing you to tailor your experience to meet your college curriculum requirements. You will receive a stipend of $250 per week during your externship, providing you with financial support as you gain valuable experience. We look forward to working with you and helping you develop the skills necessary to succeed in your veterinary career. Our team is committed to providing instruction, mentoring, and evaluation to ensure that you make the most of your time with us.
