Software Engineer Intern (Python)

Who you are

You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Quantitative Finance. You have experience with the Python ecosystem and a working knowledge of at least one statically typed language. Your grasp of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms, is strong, and you are familiar with object-oriented programming principles. You possess strong problem-solving skills and are committed to maintaining high standards for your code. An interest or prior experience in the financial trading industry, particularly in fixed income, is a plus. You thrive in a high-energy, time-sensitive team environment and are detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer Intern at Garda Capital Partners, you will be part of the Research and Technology team, where you will aid in the development of new lines of business solutions using Python and SQL. You will support senior staff in designing and implementing complete solutions for our front office and risk systems. Your role will also involve providing support for both in-house and third-party applications, allowing you to gain valuable insights into enterprise software development practices at a global hedge fund. You will collaborate closely with experienced professionals, learning from their expertise while contributing to meaningful projects that impact the firm's operations.
