Job Description

Elevate Amazon's Tax Strategy and Compliance with Your Expertise

We're seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Tax Analyst to drive critical financial compliance and reporting initiatives. In this pivotal role, you'll play a key part in shaping Amazon's tax strategy, transforming complex tax challenges into streamlined solutions that support our global business operations.


Key job responsibilities
- Prepare and review comprehensive federal tax returns and audit-ready documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Analyze and document tax implications for emerging business initiatives and technical tax positions
- Develop and implement process improvements to streamline tax reporting and compliance workflows
- Coordinate with Tax Technology teams to enhance automation and efficiency of tax processes
- Research and evaluate tax planning strategies to optimize U.S. income tax reporting

A day in the life
Your day will be a dynamic blend of strategic analysis, collaborative problem-solving, and innovative tax reporting. You'll dive deep into federal tax compliance, working across teams to develop comprehensive tax strategies that support Amazon's complex business landscape. Expect to engage in meaningful projects that require both technical expertise and creative thinking.

About the team
Our Tax Reporting and Compliance team is a collaborative, forward-thinking group dedicated to navigating the intricate world of tax regulations. We're not just number crunchers – we're strategic partners who help drive Amazon's financial success through meticulous analysis and innovative approaches.- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Knowledge of federal income taxation and some experience with state and local and US outbound tax issues. Experience with ASC740 accounting for income taxes.- CPA
- Master's degree
- Experience with Corptax tax return and provision preparation or equivalent software

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $57,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $123,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
