Staff Software Engineer- Machine Learning

**About the Role** The Marketplace Health team is building tools that aim to explain movements in business metrics; we aim to make business metrics explainable and actionable, fast. This is a new charter. The candidate could help create a technical vision for the team, and help influence the team's short-term and long-term goals. **What the Candidate Will Do:** 1. Lead the design, development, optimization, and productization of datasets & machine learning solutions that are used to solve strategically important or vaguely defined problems. 2. Lead Backend, Data & ML engineers; provide technical leadership and vision for the team. **What the Candidate Will Need:** 1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience 2. 10+ years of experience in software engineering with an emphasis on data-driven technologies 3. Experience in designing and crafting scalable, reliable, maintainable and reusable data & ML solutions. 4. 4+ years of experience working in cross-functional and/or cross-business projects, partnering with Product, Scientists, and cross-org leads to shape the team's strategies Uber's mission is to reimagine the way the world moves for the better.
