Upstart is seeking an Assistant General Counsel for Product & Regulatory to provide legal guidance for product and marketing initiatives. This role requires strong leadership skills and experience in regulatory compliance.
You have a strong background in legal counsel, particularly in product and regulatory matters, with a focus on the financial services industry. You possess excellent leadership skills, having led teams of attorneys and legal professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration. Your experience includes providing strategic legal advice to support product development and marketing initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You are adept at navigating complex legal frameworks and have a keen understanding of the lending marketplace, particularly in relation to AI-driven solutions. You are committed to promoting inclusive and fair practices within your team and the broader organization.
In this role, you will lead the Product & Regulatory Legal Team, providing legal guidance on product initiatives and marketing strategies. You will serve as the primary legal advisor for origination-related matters, ensuring that all products comply with applicable laws and regulations. You will collaborate closely with product managers and marketing teams to develop new products and features that enhance access to affordable credit.
