Security and Export Control Officer - EAR / ITAR

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

As a Security and Export Control Officer at The Exploration Company, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all export control regulations and laws, facilitating the secure and legal movement of goods across European and international borders.

Your primary duties will include reviewing export documentation, monitoring compliance with export control policies, conducting risk assessments, and providing training and guidance to staff on export regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of international trade laws, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. Join us to play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and legality of our global trade operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all relevant export control regulations and laws.

• Review and process export documentation for accuracy and completeness

• Maintain proficient record-keeping of export authorization documentation, including updated databases and tracking of pending license applications

• Manage and prepare license reporting requirements

• Conduct risk assessments and audits of export activities

• Provide training and guidance to staff on export control policies and procedures

• Liaise with regulatory bodies and authorities as needed.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in export control laws and regulations

• Coordinate within the operation team on issues related to information technology and security or foreign staff and visitors when appropriate

What we would love to see from you

• Bachelor's degree in international Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in export control or international trade compliance.

• Strong knowledge of export control regulations, including European dual-use, EAR, ITAR (US), and other international trade laws in Europe.

• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong communication skills in French and English, both written and verbal.
