Job Description

The Sort Type and Outbound Optimization CtS Product Manager is the STL responsible for driving improvements in Consumables outbound and operational performance by reducing Cost to Serve (CtS). The role drives these improvements through Cost Out Initiative - Ship Cost Optimization and CtS reduction workstreams - US Non-Sort (USNS), Low ASP and Hazmat in partnership with NAS and WW teams. This role will own initiatives in which they (1) Identify, scope and execute current and new initiatives to drive innovation and operational improvements in reducing variable costs, ship costs, and improving Vendor margin; (2) Develop, test and launch new initiatives in partnership with USNS and Hazmat workstreams and (3) Deploy best practices across regions and create mechanisms that enable cohesive project execution across various teams. This role has a direct impact on the P&L as each area of focus impacts selection profitability, inventory placement, customer order delivery speed and order consolidation.

Key job responsibilities
1. Scale identified initiatives, including ML/AI scaling opportunities.
2. Identify net new initiatives that reduce Cost to Serve across sort type, in collaboration with partner teams.
3. Owner of Low ASP Cost to Serve business review mechanism that is focused on reducing CtS for this key selection cohort; reviewed with senior Amazon leadership.
4. Partner with ML teams to leverage and influence models across key initiatives.


A day in the life
1. Collaborate with partner teams to identify and develop Cost to serve initiatives focused on Low ASP cohort.
2. Own PRFAQs and strategy docs to gain alignment at VP/ SVP level.
3. Contribute to strategic documents including Quarterly Reviews, PRFAQs, design docs.
4. Identify key defects and create mechanisms for resolving recurring challenges, leveraging automation wherever possible.
5. Provide recommendations that span NAS from robust root cause analysis across owning programs/ products.- 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience as a product manager or owner
- Experience owning technology products- Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights
- Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders
- Master's degree or equivalent
- 7+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
