As an Android Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to create and maintain apps used by millions of sports fans around the world. Working within a collaborative engineering team, you’ll help deliver scalable, high-quality, and engaging native mobile experiences.
This role is ideal for someone with commercial experience in Android development who wants to continue growing their technical skills, take on exciting challenges, and contribute to products that make an impact on a global scale.
Build & Maintain: Develop, maintain, and improve Android applications using Kotlin and modern frameworks like Jetpack Compose.
Collaborate: Work closely with engineers, designers, QA, and product managers to deliver high-quality features from concept to release.
Integrate APIs: Work with complex RESTful APIs and third-party services to create seamless app experiences.
Write Clean Code: Produce efficient, maintainable, and testable code using tools like JUnit, Espresso, and Mockk.
Sprint Participation: Take part in sprint planning, code reviews, and regular stand-ups to ensure smooth workflow and collaboration.
CI/CD Improvement: Use and enhance CI/CD pipelines (Bitrise, Jenkins) to ensure reliable, smooth app delivery.
Cross-Platform Collaboration: Coordinate with backend, iOS, and frontend engineers to ensure consistency and integration across platforms.
You have a strong foundation in Android development and a desire to expand your knowledge and experience. You thrive in a team environment, enjoy tackling complex technical challenges, and are eager to work on high-profile projects in the sports tech space.
2+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin (Java experience is optional).
Strong understanding of the Android development lifecycle and Google’s design principles.
Experience working with RESTful APIs, complex integrations, and CMS-driven content.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes (e.g., Bitrise, Jenkins).
Proficiency in testing frameworks like JUnit, Espresso, Mockito, and Mockk.
Understanding of app architecture patterns like MVVM and tools like Room, sqlite3, and Gradle.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Experience with Jetpack Compose in production.
Exposure to Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMP/KMM) for cross-platform development.
Familiarity with Firebase tools (Crashlytics, Analytics, Remote Config).
Experience with Maestro for UI testing automation.
Knowledge of SonarQube or other code quality tools.
A passion for sports or experience working on apps with large-scale user engagement.
