SpaceX is hiring an Operations Engineer for the Starlink Satellites team to drive improvement projects in satellite production. You'll work on enhancing safety, reliability, and process capabilities. This role requires strong project management skills and a background in operations engineering.
You have a background in operations engineering with experience in driving improvement projects within manufacturing or production environments. You understand the importance of safety, reliability, and process capability in achieving production goals. You are skilled in managing projects and executing them within tight timelines while effectively communicating with stakeholders. You have a proactive approach to identifying challenges within manufacturing processes and are adept at determining root causes and developing solutions. You are committed to developing and standardizing key process indicators to continuously improve operations metrics.
As an Operations Engineer within the Starlink Satellite Production team, you will be responsible for identifying, planning, and executing upgrades to capital equipment, machines, and infrastructure to meet production demands. You will manage projects that enhance production throughput and reduce manufacturing build hours while addressing quality issues and eliminating waste from complex processes. You will collaborate closely with development, supply chain, and production teams to ensure that processes are designed and developed effectively for current and future generation vehicles. Your role will involve anticipating challenges within the satellite manufacturing and procurement value stream and implementing appropriate solutions to overcome them.
