Overview

Microsoft is hiring an Environmental Permitting Manager to oversee environmental due diligence and permitting for datacenter development. This role requires strong collaboration with various stakeholders and experience in environmental compliance.

Who you are

You have a strong background in environmental management and permitting, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Your expertise includes navigating complex regulatory environments and ensuring compliance with environmental laws and standards. You are skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously and have a proven track record of delivering results on time. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively engage with stakeholders, including legal, design, and construction teams, as well as regulatory agencies. You are detail-oriented and have a strategic mindset, enabling you to develop effective strategies for environmental permitting.

Desirable

Experience in the technology sector, particularly in data center development, is a plus. Familiarity with environmental regulations specific to the Americas West region, including Arizona, Washington, and Nevada, will be beneficial. A background in project management and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment will enhance your candidacy.

What you'll do

As the Environmental Permitting Manager, you will lead the environmental permitting process for Microsoft’s datacenter projects across the Americas. You will be responsible for conducting environmental due diligence and acquiring necessary permits to support construction activities. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams, including legal, design, and construction, to ensure that all environmental compliance requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle. You will engage with regulatory agencies and external consultants to facilitate the permitting process and address any compliance issues that arise. Additionally, you will develop and implement strategies to streamline the environmental permitting process, ensuring timely delivery of permits while minimizing risks.
