Job Description

About the job

Flowhub is the cannabis retail management platform that helps dispensaries streamline

operations, improve compliance, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. We’re

building the future of cannabis retail through cutting-edge technology, and we’re looking

for passionate leaders to help us scale.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Staff Engineer to serve as a critical technical leader. This role will be responsible for defining and executing the technical strategy to address the long-term needs of scale, reliability, and extensibility. The ideal candidate has deep experience in system-level ownership, a proven track record of identifying and remediating systematic weaknesses across engineering domains, and the ability to translate technical decisions into measurable financial outcomes for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the long-term technical strategy that significantly improves key metrics, platform scale, reliability, and extensibility across multiple engineering teams.

  • Own critical, cross-team systems and processes, providing high-level architectural oversight that mitigates future risks and allows other teams to confidently rely on your guidance.

  • Systematically raise the engineering bar and fix systemic weaknesses by proactively identifying and resolving flaws in architecture, processes, and technology across the organization.

  • Lead through collaboration, mentoring senior engineers and driving the adoption of high-leverage technologies and methodologies across collaborating teams to improve combined productivity.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of expertise building and delivering high-quality production software, demonstrating expert-level core technical proficiency.

  • Respectful, empathetic, and humble, a natural team player and Culture Ambassador, committed to proactively empowering and influencing cultural adherence, providing excellent feedback, and removing organizational barriers.

  • Deep experience solving complex, systemic issues in architecture and processes that affect multiple engineering teams.

  • Proven ability to lead and organize complex cross-team projects, including defining collaboration processes and managing critical dependencies.

  • Strong business acumen, with a track record of translating customer and business understanding into clear, measurable financial outcomes for the organization.
