You have 5+ years of experience in data science, particularly in developing algorithms and mathematical models that drive business decisions. Your background includes a strong focus on machine learning, optimization, and statistical modeling, allowing you to tackle complex problems effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineers, product managers, and business partners to frame and solve problems both mathematically and contextually. Your analytical skills enable you to perform exploratory data analysis, gaining insights that inform your modeling efforts. Desirable

Experience with real-time data processing and algorithms in a ridesharing or similar domain would be a plus. What you'll do

As a Senior Data Scientist on the Fulfillment team at Lyft, you will drive the science and machine learning roadmap for your area of expertise. You will leverage data and analytic frameworks to create and improve algorithms that underpin the team's systems and products. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teammates to enhance algorithms that match rideshare supply and demand in real time. You will construct and fit statistical, machine learning, or optimization models, ensuring they are aligned with business objectives. Additionally, you will perform exploratory data analysis to deepen your understanding of the problems at hand, guiding your modeling efforts. Writing production modeling code will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will collaborating with engineers to integrate your models into the Lyft platform. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior data scientists, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of learning within the team.

Lyft offers a competitive salary range for this position in the New York City area, between $148,000 and $185,000, not including potential equity offerings, bonuses, or benefits.
