Google is seeking a Privacy Engineer III to enhance user privacy in Google Ads. You'll design solutions that maintain privacy standards and work with regulatory frameworks like GDPR and CCPA. This role requires experience in privacy technologies and data engineering.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 2 years of experience in a privacy-related field such as security engineering, data engineering, or compliance engineering. You have a strong background in designing solutions that enhance the privacy posture of organizations by analyzing and assessing proposed engineering designs, including product features and infrastructure systems. Your experience includes applying privacy technologies like differential privacy and automated access management solutions, customizing existing frameworks to meet organizational needs. You are familiar with common regulatory frameworks such as GDPR and CCPA and have experience working with regulators or regulatory authorities. You understand the software development lifecycle and have knowledge of machine learning and generative AI privacy. Additionally, you possess a solid understanding of technical privacy issues, including cookie management and encryption.
In this role, you will be part of the Ads Privacy team, which is dedicated to ensuring that the ads business operates smoothly while prioritizing user privacy. You will review every launch to ensure compliance with privacy standards and help uphold requirements related to overarching regulations such as GDPR and CPRA. Your responsibilities will include designing ads products and services with a focus on privacy by design and privacy by default principles. You will respond to privacy incidents, collecting information on scope and root cause, and managing remediation efforts. Collaboration is key, as you will work with cross-functional teams within Google on privacy engineering activities related to privacy, security, data protection, and data storage. You will also produce artifacts to guide and train others on ads privacy best practices, ensuring that the team is well-informed and aligned with privacy objectives.
