Job Description

Our Senior Account Managers are charismatic, design and technology enthusiasts who display the management skills required to keep abreast of the current market and juggle multiple projects simultaneously. Effective communication, a collaborative, empathic nature, attention to detail and top-notch presentation skills are also necessary to deal effectively with clients and keep the team to deadlines.

Located in Berlin, you will oversee a leading global automotive brand – primarily across website, app, and content projects. You will be responsible for developing strong client relationships and are committed to driving the business forward through innovative work that inspires and motivates audiences. You will be surrounded by some of the brightest minds in their fields.  

 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Builds and maintains client relationships; conscientious and proactive in bringing forward creative and strategic opportunities, inspiring with creativity, with full understanding and empathy for their business. Takes the reins to drive projects forward and ensures maximum success and growth for both client and AKQA.
  • Develops a deep understanding of client’s business, market environment, and audiences. 
  • Successfully builds and manages trust with multiple stakeholders, partners and clients to ensure we reach successful creative outcomes for both the client and AKQA
  • Constantly demonstrating AKQA strategic thinking, e.g. able to formulate strategic propositions and communicate these via client-ready presentations, prototypes and points of view. Ensures AKQA shares relevant solutions that meet client business objectives
  • Identifies, pursues and converts organic growth opportunities and supports the management & conversion of new business opportunities
  • Demonstrating care for stakeholders through unparalleled service and communication; keeping teams informed of project progress and managing expectations proactively
  • Responsible for all aspects of monthly, quarterly and annual financial process for client accounts
  • Reaching profitability and revenue targets with sharp accuracy in forecasting
  • Provides a viewpoint on team resource and configuration. Sets out detailed month-by-month forecasts against which resource can be planned
  • Creates and distributes professional-quality written documentation (presentation decks, status reports, agendas, contact reports, emails)
  • Ultimately responsible for the last quality check of all deliverables, ensuring we are delivering against briefs and expectations. 
  • Able to support and steer a team in the development of a digital product vision and roadmap that aligns with client goals

 

QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE

  • A strong interest in digital products, innovation and business strategy.
  • Agency account management experience at a leading digital agency or similar organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience working across diverse digital projects, including experience design (UX/UI), iterative design sprints, and web development.
  • Some experience and interest collaborating with cross-functional teams to build and launch consumer-facing programs, such as loyalty platforms or other digital initiatives.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and applications, and an understanding of their potential to enhance creative, strategic, and product development processes
  • Experience with global luxury and automotive brands preferred
  • A solid understanding of the end-to-end digital product development lifecycle, from discovery to launch and optimisation
  • Successful track record of building exceptional client relationships; necessary capability, presence and professionalism to inspire confidence and credibility with clients and colleagues.
  • Comfort and understanding of standard web development project terminology and processes, enabling effective collaboration with product and development teams
  • Strong presentation skills such as written, visual and verbal
  • Ability to structure strategic ideas into well-ordered and insightful keynote presentations
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, SAFe) is highly desirable.
  • Good judgement: provide guidance, analyse a situation and provide advice under pressure
  • Commercial acumen: a consistent track record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets
  • Business-level fluency in both German and English. This includes the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a professional business context. Applicants should be comfortable engaging in complex discussions, negotiations, and preparing formal documentation in both languages.
