Amazon's Supply Chain organization is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join our Transfer Analytics team. We analyze the many flows between nodes in Amazon's supply chain network, looking for opportunities to get products closer to consumers and improve customer experience. As a BIE, you will own the full life cycle of multiple initiatives, from identifying problems to crafting proposals, testing and scaling pilots, and reporting on solutions.
To do so, you'll apply excellent analytical skills across large datasets, extract meaningful insights, and compile them into easily digestible packages to share with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail and a keen curiosity to understand not just what is happening within the network, but why. Collaboration with other teams to define business requirements, track progress, and deliver results will be key to success.
Key job responsibilities
- Tackling novel business problems and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to drive programs to address those opportunities.
- Defining key metrics and developing dashboards and reports to track the impact of initiatives targeting those metrics.
- Creating and maintaining ETL pipelines across a wide range of data sources using SQL and Python, among other technologies.
- Driving best practices in documentation, coding standards, and data integrity.
- Serving as an example and mentor to junior team members
About the team
The Transfer Analytics team monitors and identifies opportunities to optimize inventory flows throughout Amazon's supply chain. We partner with operations, finance, and planning stakeholders to provide actionable insights to enhance the end-to-end customer fulfillment journey.- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Master's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
