What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data center operations — your responsibilities will include troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance. You will work closely with a team of engineers to monitor systems and respond to any issues that may arise, ensuring that we maintain our commitment to 99.999% uptime.

You will be responsible for operating and maintaining mission-critical facilities, including stand-by diesel generators, cooling systems, and electrical distribution systems — your hands-on experience will be crucial in identifying and resolving issues quickly to minimize downtime. You will also participate in routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities to ensure that all systems are functioning as intended.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work alongside software, hardware, and network engineers to support the overall infrastructure — your ability to communicate effectively with team members will help facilitate smooth operations and quick problem resolution. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and share your insights on best practices with the team.
