Job Description

Do you have a passion for Automotive? Do you want to challenge the status quo of the in-car experience? Do you want to take on very ambiguous problems? If you answered yes to these questions, we have a dream job for you.


As a member of the team, you will be working with business partners, software development engineers to design, implement manual and automated tests. You will have significant influence on our overall test strategy and driving the system architecture that supports it and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product. You should have a combination of solid in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance, solid understanding of the operating system software, as well as knowledge automation tools. You will learn a variety of latest technologies, development processes, and develop well-rounded skills such as leadership, and effective project management. Candidates will need to define test plans, test specifications, test suites, test cases as well as design tools for functional and performance testing in a programmatic manner.


Key job responsibilities
· Propose improvements to our existing processes and automated tools in order to improve the team’s speed, quality and efficiency.
· Lead projects end to end with minimum guidance
. Drive the program horizontally across domains and features to deliver
. Help build a roadmap and vision for the team
. Evaluate and propose new ideas and test methodologies, leading the team to innovate and stay ahead of the curve
. Deliver new test strategies, test plans and enhance/optimize existing plans as part of Opex
. Lead and drive the oncall process for high severity issues
. Propose and drive innovative Automation solutions to challenge status-quo and improve efficiency and reliability
. Mentor junior team members and interns technically

About the team
The Amazon Smart Vehicle team is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to drive world class quality in the software platform that makes a one of a kind experience today, and will enable exciting new capabilities tomorrow. We are building the next generation voice-forward in-cabin experience that delights customers, increases safety, and brings the future of digital cabin to life.

We have a team of smart and innovate engineers and enthusiasts who passionately work on problem solving and dealing with ambiguity.

At Amazon, we believe that testing is a key and critical part of SW Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and required for Quality design and innovation. We lead, drive and deliver innovation of new test methodologies and approaches.
As always, we "Work hard. Have fun. Make history."- 8+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- 4+ years of delivering test frameworks, test tools, leading the QA projects and initiatives experience
- Knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in an QAE role
- Experience in manual testing
- Experience in automation testing
- Experience scripting or coding
- Bachelor's degree
- - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Embedded/EE or similar technical field
- - 3+ years of relevant experience in QA testing and debugging
- - 2+ years of experience in scripting test cases and building automation solutions
- - Knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OOPs, and complexity analysis
- - Experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment
- - Experience in developing high quality test plans, test designs, test strategies, and test execution- 2+ years of UI Automation (preferably on mobile platforms) experience
- Demonstrate problem solving skills and innovative ideas to improve operational efficiency
- Master's degree in ECE/EE, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field
- 2+ years of relevant industry experience in automotive industry in testing IVI or mobile applications and/or voice technology.
- Knowledge of all the layers of the OSI model, TCP/IP, Socket programming
- Knowledge of industry standard test automation tools and experience developing product test harnesses
- Experience with Android, iOS or other mobile application development or testing
- Hands-on experience in either Python, Perl, Java, C/C++. Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium
- Experience working cross-functionally with different stakeholders including development and business teams
- Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality
