Overview

Microsoft’s newly formed Office of Strategy and Transformation (OS&T) is looking for aSenior Manager, Continuous Improvement to lead transformation efforts across Microsoft that will shape Microsoft’s journey to becoming a Frontier Firm.  This role plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of operational excellence at Microsoft. As a member of our Continuous Improvement team,you will be instrumental in building and deploying innovative tools and methodologies that streamline workflows and drive efficiencies. You’ll also be at the forefront of integrating AI to enhance processes and accelerate business outcomes. As a Senior Manager, Continuous Improvement  you will develop deep expertise in continuous improvement strategies and AI applications. You will build leadership skills as you engage, influence, and drive momentum with senior leaders and across the organization. You will deliver measurable impact by collaborating across the organization, opening the door to significant career growth opportunities and advancement. This position is based in Redmond, with travel as required to achieve key business outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • You will build and deploy the core tools and methodologies of continuous improvement to drive achievement of targeted results in security, quality, and delivery. 
  • As you lead process improvement and the development of business outcomes for complex processes you will assess process performance. You’ll facilitate teams in definition of improvement goals, leveraging relevant benchmarks to set a high bar, and support implementation of improvements to achieve targeted outcomes. 
  • You will facilitate process execution and lead a clear end-to-end view of expected business outcomes for owned processes. You’ll manage stakeholder engagement rhythm and partnerships by addressing pain points to resolve challenges and to drive sustainment of improvements. 
  • You will facilitate the process improvement sustainment, including assessing performance data, interpret analyses, and translate insights into recommendations to support teams’ adoption of continuous improvement. You’ll use data results to identify opportunities, communicate results, lead the incorporation of process methodologies and leverage feedback from others to identify opportunities for future process improvements and work with teams to implement, using kaizen. 
  • You will lead change management using your advanced understanding of the business and continuous improvement. You’ll lead teams in end-to-end implementation of improvement for complex processes that span multiple business functions and lead documentation maintenance for flow, controls, underlying systems, and requirements needed.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications 

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 4+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 6+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience (e.g., data analytics)
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 10+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience (e.g., data analytics)
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Lean, Business Process Management Professional, Change Management (e.g., Prosci), Six Sigma, and/or Agile certifications. 
  • Proven track record of leading successful kaizen / improvement events that produce measurable business outcomes and sustainment. 
  • 2+ years of experience and proficiency in process improvement and design 
  • 2+ years of experience applying rigorous critical thinking to breakdown complex processes to identify improvement opportunities 
  • 2+ years of experience leading, facilitating, and influencing cross-functional teams 


Process Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
