Overview

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Wastewater Engineer to oversee the operations of an ultrapure process water plant supporting Starlink's manufacturing. This role requires expertise in engineering processes and collaboration with various teams.

Who you are

You have a strong background in engineering, particularly in wastewater management or ultrapure water systems, with a focus on optimizing processes for manufacturing environments. Your experience includes developing and implementing equipment and facilities that ensure operational efficiency and reliability. You are skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, development, and production, to drive projects from concept to execution. You understand the importance of quality and consistency in manufacturing processes and are committed to delivering high standards in your work. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively interact with senior leadership and present critical design phases clearly. You are driven by a passion for innovation and are eager to contribute to projects that have a significant impact on technology and society.

Desirable

Experience with ultrapure water systems or similar technologies is a plus. Familiarity with manufacturing processes related to electronics or aerospace can enhance your candidacy. A background in project management or process optimization methodologies would be beneficial. You are adaptable and open to learning new technologies and processes as needed.

What you'll do

As a Senior Wastewater Engineer at SpaceX, you will take ownership of the ultrapure process water plant that supports the manufacturing of printed circuit boards, silicon packaging, and solar cells for the Starlink program. Your primary responsibility will be to activate, qualify, and optimize the operations of the water treatment systems, ensuring they meet the stringent requirements of the manufacturing lines. You will work closely with engineering teams to develop and implement new processes and technologies that enhance operational efficiency and product quality. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving any operational issues that arise, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity. Regular interaction with senior leadership will be a key part of your role, as you will present updates on project status and operational performance. You will lead initiatives to improve the consistency and reliability of the ultrapure water systems, contributing to the overall success of the Starlink manufacturing program.
