Sr. Wet Process Engineer - Solar Cell Texturing (Starlink)

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in wet process engineering, particularly in the solar cell manufacturing sector. Your expertise includes setting up production lines and optimizing processes to ensure high efficiency and quality. You are familiar with various production techniques such as chemical etching, PE-CVD, and PVD, and you understand the intricacies of equipment procurement and commissioning. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are passionate about developing innovative solutions that contribute to sustainable energy.

Desirable

Experience with solar cell production and a strong understanding of the lifecycle of setting up a greenfield production plant would be advantageous. Familiarity with wafer inspection tools and gas and chemical distribution systems is also a plus. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling complex challenges and driving projects to completion.

What you'll do

As a Senior Wet Process Engineer at SpaceX, you will spearhead the development of state-of-the-art production processes for solar cells used in Starlink satellites. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of setting up a new production line, from equipment procurement and plant design to commissioning and ramp-up. Your role will involve recipe and process development to ensure the production of high-quality solar cells that meet the demands of both Starlink and future missions to the Moon and Mars. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create a world-class production environment and mentor junior engineers in best practices.
