N26 is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to work in the Grow & Engage domain, focusing on customer experience and innovative features. You'll utilize Java, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role requires experience in large-scale production systems.
You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in developing software using JVM languages and Spring Boot in large-scale production systems. Your expertise includes a sound understanding of microservice architecture and you are familiar with both relational and non-relational databases, preferably Postgres. You appreciate working in a modern cloud architecture, ideally with AWS, and you possess full professional proficiency in English. You actively seek to help yourself and others succeed, continuously learn, and challenge the status quo. You have a strong bias for action and are open to giving and receiving direct feedback.
Experience with Kotlin would be a plus, as well as familiarity with the latest trends in technology. You are not afraid to propose findings during team collaboration days and have a keen interest in mentoring junior members of your team, ensuring code quality through pull requests and guidance.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with your Tech Lead on architecting new features and seeing them through to completion. You will design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software in a thriving environment, ensuring that the highest technical standards are upheld across the product. You will have opportunities to mentor junior members of the team, helping them with questions and ensuring code quality through rigorous pull requests. You will stay up to date with the latest trends in technology and actively contribute to team discussions on improvements and innovations.
