Amazon is hiring a Controls Technician to support the installation and maintenance of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) in data centers. You'll work with networking and electrical engineering principles to ensure optimal operation of critical systems.
You have a technical background and experience in installation, troubleshooting, operations, and maintenance of field sensors, controllers, wiring, and programming associated with industrial control systems. You are passionate about customer experience and have the ability to contribute to major innovations in building controls and automation. You possess strong skills in networking and electrical engineering, which are essential for the role. You are also experienced in operating and maintaining mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring reliability and efficiency in data center operations.
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy mentoring and training team members on the operation and control of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS). You are proactive in auditing, maintaining, and managing computer enterprise asset management systems for BMS and EPMS installations. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence drive you to innovate on behalf of customers in the area of data center building automation.
Experience with advanced automation technologies and a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems will set you apart. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in data center operations is a plus. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the field.
In this role, you will primarily work in and support multiple data centers by deploying, servicing, and upgrading BMS and EPMS systems. You will participate in the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and startup of equipment and control systems associated with BMS and EPMS system deployment. Your responsibilities will include mentoring and training facilities team members on the operation and control of these systems, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge to maintain optimal performance.
You will also be responsible for auditing and managing computer enterprise asset management systems for BMS and EPMS installations. This includes maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with operational standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for system improvements and implement innovative solutions that enhance the efficiency and reliability of data center operations.
Your role will require you to actively engage in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to building controls and automation systems. You will work closely with other technicians and engineers to ensure that all systems are functioning correctly and efficiently. Your contributions will directly impact the overall performance of the data centers, making your role critical to the success of Amazon's operations.
