Apple is seeking a Test & Instrumentation Development Engineer to architect and design advanced Test and Measurement Systems. You'll work with C/C++ and Objective-C to develop instrumentation software and firmware. This role requires a B.S. in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
You have a B.S. in a related field and at least 3 years of relevant experience in test and instrumentation development. Your background includes experience with software and hardware that interfaces and controls instruments, showcasing your ability to work with complex systems. You are proficient in C/C++ for embedded and industrial control applications, and you have a solid understanding of electronics debugging tools such as DMMs and oscilloscopes. Your knowledge of circuit and electrical engineering fundamentals allows you to read schematics and data sheets effectively. Additionally, you have experience with Objective-C and Mac software development workflows, which enhances your versatility in software development. Your familiarity with firmware development, particularly in data acquisition and measurement applications, is a significant asset. You understand protocols like I2C and SPI, which are essential for sensor calibration and testing in high-volume consumer electronics.
In this role, you will play a key part in architecting, specifying, designing, developing, validating, and launching touch technology product characterization and instrumentation software and firmware. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable critical sensor calibration and testing in a fast-paced product development environment. Your responsibilities will include defining and developing test and measurement instruments that support new product bring-up, characterization, ramp, and production. You will work closely with engineers and designers to ensure that the instrumentation meets the high standards expected in Apple's world-class products. Your role will also involve troubleshooting and debugging complex systems, ensuring that all instruments function correctly and efficiently. You will be expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies, helping to drive innovation within the team. Your ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders will be crucial as you navigate the challenges of developing cutting-edge products.
