Amazon is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to support AWS product development. You'll draft and negotiate legal terms for commercial contracts and utilize AI tools for legal research. This role requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
You have over 7 years of experience in drafting and negotiating legal terms for a wide range of commercial contracts — you understand complex legal concepts and can interpret legal terminology with ease. Your background includes direct experience with technology licensing and procurement contracts, which equips you to handle the unique challenges of the tech industry.
You are proficient in using AI tools for legal research and contract analysis — your familiarity with specific legal AI tools like CoCounsel, Spellbook, or Harvey AI enhances your efficiency and effectiveness in contract management. You thrive in a team-oriented environment and possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to engage directly with principal business owners and stakeholders.
Your inquisitive nature drives you to stay updated on technology trends and legal developments — you enjoy being challenged and are enthusiastic about finding innovative solutions to complex problems. You can manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
Experience in a fast-paced legal environment is a plus, as is familiarity with cloud computing and IT infrastructure services. A strong understanding of the legal implications of technology contracts will set you apart.
In this role, you will primarily support the product development functions of Amazon Web Services — your responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts that align with AWS's business objectives. You will collaborate closely with product teams to ensure that all legal aspects are addressed in the development process.
You will be responsible for managing the contract lifecycle, from initial drafting through negotiation and execution — your keen attention to detail will ensure that all contracts are compliant with legal standards and reflect the best interests of AWS. You will also provide legal guidance on various commercial agreements, helping to navigate complex legal landscapes.
Your role will involve direct interaction with business leaders, where you will communicate legal concepts clearly and effectively — you will need to demonstrate sound judgment, especially in ambiguous situations, to support decision-making processes. You will also be expected to stay informed about industry trends and legal developments that may impact AWS's operations.
Amazon offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, financial, and other perks designed to support your well-being and career growth. You will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where innovation is encouraged, and your contributions will have a direct impact on the success of AWS.
We believe in fostering a culture of continuous learning and development — you will have access to resources and training that will help you grow in your legal career. Join us at Amazon, where you can be part of a team that is shaping the future of cloud computing and technology services.
