Point72 is seeking a Senior Research Analyst to focus on Southeast Asian FX and rates markets. You'll develop trade ideas and conduct fundamental research while leveraging your expertise in fixed income. This role requires 10-12 years of experience in a strategy or analyst position.
You have 10-12 years of experience in fixed income, ideally in a strategy or analyst role at a top-tier hedge fund, asset manager, or bank. Your deep knowledge of Southeast Asian emerging markets allows you to navigate the complexities of these financial landscapes effectively. You possess a strong competency in Excel and VBA, and ideally, you have programming skills in a common language such as Python. You are a strong communicator who values building relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, and you can modulate your communication style based on the opportunity set. You take ownership of your work, demonstrating the ability to work both independently and within a small team while adhering to the highest ethical standards.
Experience working with banks and brokers for information gathering and relationship building is a plus. A background in portfolio and risk management will enhance your ability to contribute to the investment activities of the group.
In this role, you will work closely with the Portfolio Manager to formulate and develop trade ideas across Southeast Asian FX and rates markets. You will conduct ongoing fundamental research to support and enhance the investment activities of the group, ensuring that your insights are actionable and relevant. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining sell-side relationships, which are crucial for gathering information and executing trades effectively. You will assist in portfolio and risk management, completing risk-assessment analysis, trade structuring, and implementation to the point of execution. Additionally, you will work on numerous ad-hoc projects aimed at enhancing the trade identification and management process, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
