Google is seeking a Head of Customer Engineering for their Capital Markets team to lead technical customer-facing roles and drive business opportunities. You'll work with cloud native architecture and engage with technical stakeholders. This position requires 10 years of experience in a related field.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 10 years of experience in cloud native architecture within a customer-facing or support role. Your background includes at least 3 years of experience leading teams in a technical customer-facing role, ideally within professional services or sales engineering. You possess strong leadership skills and have successfully managed teams through sales processes, operations, and career development. Your ability to engage with technical stakeholders and executive leaders allows you to tailor and deliver compelling messages that drive business opportunities. Experience in the Financial Services industry is a plus, as you understand the unique challenges and requirements of this sector.
You have experience with software lifecycles, building tools, and architecting and developing software for scalable, distributed systems, including data platforms, AI/ML, and infrastructure. Your expertise in managing sensitive information and conducting workload and opportunity review meetings with sales and customer engineering teams sets you apart. You are comfortable traveling up to 25% of the time to meet with clients and partners, ensuring that you maintain strong relationships and drive successful outcomes.
In this role, you will lead the Customer Engineering team for Google Cloud's Capital Markets division, focusing on transforming and building what's next for our customers. You will work cross-functionally to resolve technical roadblocks, including capacity needs, constraints, and product challenges that affect customer satisfaction. Your leadership will guide the team in achieving technical agreements and migration strategies, working directly with customers, partners, and prospects. You will also be responsible for providing insights into how to achieve success in sales processes and managing the performance of your team.
You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, ensuring that the technical solutions provided align with customer needs and expectations. Your role will involve presenting to technical stakeholders and executive leaders, where you will lead conversations that drive business opportunities. You will also be tasked with mentoring and developing your team, fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement.
