Overview

Enviva is hiring a Control Room Operator to monitor and manage plant systems for sustainable wood bioenergy solutions. You'll ensure safe and efficient operations while responding to alarms and maintaining equipment. This role requires an understanding of control room operations.

Who you are

You are a detail-oriented individual with a foundational understanding of control room operations. You possess the ability to prepare accurate records and have a range of technical and soft skills that enable you to monitor and manage plant systems effectively. You thrive in environments where safety and efficiency are paramount, and you are committed to contributing to a renewable energy future.

You are comfortable operating computers and monitors, translating signals into production realities, and adjusting production line processes as needed. Your proactive approach allows you to respond to alarms and take appropriate corrective actions to ensure the plant meets its generating requirements. You understand the importance of maintaining equipment and monitoring various levels to ensure continuous plant operation.

Desirable

Experience in a similar role or industry would be beneficial, as would familiarity with monitoring systems and equipment. A background in renewable energy or bioenergy solutions could enhance your ability to contribute to the team.

What you'll do

As a Control Room Operator at Enviva, you will be responsible for monitoring the status of all plant systems on a continuous basis. You will operate plant functions from the control room, managing systems such as the chip feed system, fuel feed system, furnace, dryer system, and pellet presses. Your role will involve checking indicator screens and signal lights, monitoring production rates, and ensuring the smooth functioning of systems and equipment.

You will act as the overall contact for plant operations, translating signals into production realities and adjusting production line processes as necessary. Your responsibilities will include managing and monitoring various levels and feed rates to ensure continuous plant operation. You will also be tasked with maintaining working schedules and equipment temperatures, ensuring that all operations adhere to safety and efficiency standards.
