What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers — your responsibilities will include operating and troubleshooting various electrical and mechanical systems. You will ensure that our mission-critical facilities, including stand-by diesel generators and cooling systems, are functioning optimally. Your hands-on approach will be essential in identifying and resolving issues quickly to maintain our extraordinary uptime of 99.999%.

You will collaborate closely with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, contributing to the overall success of AWS infrastructure services. Your role will involve regular maintenance checks, system monitoring, and troubleshooting of equipment such as CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, and air handlers. You will be responsible for documenting your findings and collaborating with your team to implement improvements based on your observations.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance your skills and stay updated on the latest technologies in the field. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and operational efficiencies, helping to shape the future of our data center operations.
