Astranis is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to design, evaluate, and test spacecraft parts and mechanical systems. You'll work with composite and metallic components using various manufacturing techniques. This role requires problem-solving skills and hands-on experience.
You have a strong problem-solving background and hands-on skills, with a keen enthusiasm for novel design. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, evaluating, procuring, assembling, and testing primary structures, bracketry, and mechanisms for Astranis spacecraft. Experience with spacecraft, mechanisms, and composites is beneficial but not required. You are eager to contribute to the development of advanced satellites that expand humanity's reach into the solar system.
In this role, you will develop requirements for components and systems, including loads, interfaces, and functional requirements. You will work closely with a team of engineers to ensure that the spacecraft parts meet stringent requirements for uptime, data security, and network visibility. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and testing mechanical systems to ensure they function correctly under various conditions. You will also collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and software components, ensuring a seamless operation of the spacecraft.
